LG plan to release their first commerically available OLED TV in Korea in Nov 2009, with the unit being offered overseas on 2010. The unit offers a 15" OLED screen, but LG have plans to release 32" and 402 OLED TVs possibly in 2010, although with an original date of 2010 having been initially quoted, this may be slightly ambitious! The unit is expected to be sold for around $2,500 (around £1,500 at todays exchange rate).

Active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AM-OLED) displays, which use self-glowing materials, have better picture quality, consume less power and are thinner than widely used liquid crystal displays (LCD) that need backlight units
